The demand for TANDBERG products
is worldwide. During 2003,
TANDBERG made a number of
important strategic moves
to ensure that the company
is well positioned with global
operations to meet worldwide
growth. TANDBERG established
a management team that is
well dispersed around the
world, adopted a global customer
relationship management solution,
and geared the company’s
financial metrics to global
reporting.
Toni Lee Rudnicki joined
the executive team in June
as Chief Marketing Officer,
with global success in business
management and marketing at
Digital Equipment and AspenTech.
Under her direction, TANDBERG
began consolidating marketing,
the web site, and branding
around a single global TANDBERG
image that promotes its leadership
in IP communications. Michael
Ketcham, Chief Financial Officer,
is a more recent addition
to the TANDBERG senior management
team. Michael was executive
vice president and CFO of
Marconi Systems and Marconi
Capital, with prior experience
as CFO of the WMF Group.
To increase revenues and
leverage its technology assets,
TANDBERG invested in three
key market areas: Global Accounts,
the TANDBERG Global Presence
Program, and global alliances.
TANDBERG dedicated increased
support to its Global 100
clients. Chris Boulter was
hired during the year as the
Vice President of TANDBERG’s
Global Account organization.
His previous experience included
working for IBM’s Lotus
Professional Services in the
U.S. and EMEA as Director
of Strategic Accounts. Chris
and his team provide best-in-class
support to the global needs
of top tier customers. Many
of these companies are expanding
their deployment of real-time
visual communications, requiring
global planning, coordination,
and management. The Global
100 market represents one
of the most important and
fastest growing segments in
TANDBERG’s business.
The TANDBERG Global Presence
Program extends the company’s
reach with “one-stop”
solutions. For centralized
purchasing and regional support,
TANDBERG systems are often
installed as part of larger
IT networks provided by major
international vendors such
as IBM. In the absence of
local geographic support,
the TANDBERG Global Presence
Program enables domestic partners
to outsource project management
of international installations
and service to TANDBERG. TANDBERG’s
global network of trained
and certified partners delivers
installation and service anywhere
in the world. The TANDBERG
Global Presence Program is
a formal recognition of this
arrangement. The program provides
mutual training and education,
and the development of customized
solutions that blend complementary
technologies. In 2004, TANDBERG
intends to extend and develop
several key global partner
collaborations.
Global Alliances leverage
technology interoperability.
During 2003, TANDBERG expanded
its business development capability
through key hires in Silicon
Valley and other technology
centers. Working with companies
such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft
and WebEx, TANDBERG is committed
to seamless interoperability
in third-party environments.
The company’s Outlook
integration and WebEx solution
are tangible examples of global
alliance successes. In addition
TANDBERG entered into a cross-licensing
technology relationship with
Cisco Systems to produce enhanced
integration with future products.
