RoHS Information

The RoHS Directive is complementary to the WEEE Directive. It bans the use of certain heavy metals and brominated flame retardants in order to reduce the environmental impact of landfilled or incinerated WEEE.

From July 2006, the following substances are effectively banned from use in new electrical and electronic equipment*:

•   Lead
•   Mercury
•   Cadmium
•   Hexavalent chromium; and
•   Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)

TANDBERG understands the environmental risks associated with these substances and complies with the RoHS Directive requirements set by the European Union. RoHS substances will be eliminated, to levels below legal limits, for all TANDBERG products subject to the RoHS Directive.

* A limited number of exemptions for specific applications in some product categories are listed in the Annex to the RoHS Directive. Use of spare parts to repair equipment put on the market before July 1, 2006 will be permitted.
